Loggerhead turtle hatchling

Description

Loggerhead turtles come back to Mon Repos, Queensland, every year to lay their eggs. We are fortunate to live close enough to these beaches that we have the opportunity to wander down in the early morning and cheer on any hatchlings that may be making their way down to the water. It is a fraught experience, with birds circling overhead waiting to have one for their breakfast. This one made it to the water, which is just the start of their struggle to survive.
